Taking too many days off can also exhaust you!

Ok, this is the first blog update in English. The main goal is to keep utilizing English as frequent as possible. So forgive me for any grammatical mistakes I made.

Not only working too many days straight can exhaust you, as I've been experiencing it myself, taking too much days off can exhaust you as well.

To ensure you all understand the meaning of "too many days off" here , I'll first make it clear.

Lately, i have to work at least 15 days in a row then have 12-13 days off in a row! It sounds relaxing to have THAT MUCH free time, doesn't it?

Not at all, I found myself inactive whenever I didn't have to teach. (If you know me, you probably know by now what I teach.) Staying home drains my battery day by day, especially my home which can undeniably be called A MESS. Too many stuff surrounding, I always feel the lack of energy flowing around the house. From what I read about Feng Shui, If you collect too much junks, you will have some sort of mental and physical problems. I couldn't agree more!

The problem is that my mom doesn't wholeheartedly support me about clearing all the clutters. She's every housewife with the attitude of keeping everything that ever comes to their life and never let go, hoping one day one of those tiny little broken pieces can be useful and even save the world!

Well, it's not just my mom, it's the whole family to be precise. Even I myself kept almost all the books I bought for years before learning that it's no good keeping those junks!! Something revolutionary must be done, but hey I'm not saying it's easy!

So the point is TRYING TO CHANGE SOMEONE is exhausting, especially that somone happens to be yourself. I started the process from myself by reading books about Simplicity, Clutter Clearing Systems, Frugality or even Zen. To plant the seed of "Less is More" philosophy in my brain was a slow process at first, however, It eventually grew on me and inspired me much more in every way.

To sum up the story, the reason why taking too many days off can exhaust you is that what you do during those period of time is way more important and has more impact to the whole picture of self-realization. I'm trying my best to go where I need to go, trying hard to live to the fullest in my own way. I never believe that there is an instant pattern that everyone should follow.

This very last sentence was actually what I heard from a boring commercial on TV long ago, but this slogan subtly suggested me something essential.

"Choose wisely, Live well."

  1. So you bought more books on "Simplicity, Clutter Clearing Systems, Frugality or even Zen" to add on your piles of books?
